I Walked With You Once Upon a Dream
It's always fun for me to look back over my posts and see how much I have grown in the past year. I laugh at my cliche sayings and rookie formatting, and then laugh again to think of how much I'll be laughing at today's posts 12 months from now. Here's a little #throwback to a year and a half ago, when I didn't even have my drivers license yet -- Here I am, all this time later, getting ready to embark on my own "Aurora-esque" adventure, stepping out of my boxes into a forest of skyscrapers and dreams, ready to dance like a child and write my own fairytale.
A Kel Ward Kate's Couture Collaboration March 12, 2015
These images by Kel Ward Photography featuring my Edelweiss gown are by far my favorite photographs of one of my creations. I love the innocence captured with just a little bit of flirty. This dress is perfect for the offbeat bride that wants to look a little bit traditional, and without hiding her tattoos -- the tattoos that probably hold a great deal of sentimental value. I love the picture below of Model Sarah Ansley with her spider tattoo peeking out.
This dress holds a classic silhouette, but still reserves just enough mischief to make it fun. Ansley reminds me of Princess Aurora from Disney's "Sleeping Beauty" in these photos. Sleeping beauty was always my favorite disney princess because I loved the scene where she dances in the woods.
Aurora portrayed a girl stuck in a box, who ventures out of that box to fix things herself. I loved her confidence in who she is and the fact that she's not afraid to dance through the forest like a child. I hope I never outgrow that sense of childilikeness. She doesn't always behave like others expect her to, but she still gets the boy at the end of the day. And heck, she gets the prettiest dress too!
I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream; I know you that gleam in your eyes is so familiar a gleam.
And if I know you, I know what you'll do. You'll love me at once; the way you did, once, upon a dream."
